"Every time I see a coin on the street, I stop, pick it up, put it into my pocket, and say out loud "Thank you, God, for this symbol of abundance that keeps flowing into my life" Never once have I asked, "Why only a penny, God? You know I need a lot more than that."" ~ Wayne Dyer
There are a few things that appear in my life that I consider signs. I seem to attract hawks, it’s a rare day I don’t see one flying or sitting on a wire near the road. It’s true that I live in a rural area, so the keening of a Red Tail or the flash of a Kestral isn’t unicorn-like in its rarity, but there are plenty of people who live in the same area who, I’m sure, don’t see hawks all the time. Or at least they don’t notice them…
My other significant sign is pennies. With my nickname being Penny, that seems pretty logical :-)! I find lucky pennies a LOT - and usually when I need to remember that I have a life full of abundance, and things will only get better.
I find pennies in the grocery store parking lot, out walking on trails, in the pockets of jackets I haven’t worn in a while, and even in the washing machine, (which is particularly weird since I always empty pockets before I throw anything in the washer!).
The most recent find was in the cupholder of a Subaru that my husband found for our daughter. She’s always wanted a green LL Bean edition Outback wagon, but never seriously went shopping because there wasn’t money in her budget for a car. Lo and behold, a mechanic friend of my husband’s had one come in, and ta-da! Adelaide the Outback joined the family. Finding that shiny penny was a sign that this was meant to be.
A while ago, I had a Divine Download about finding a penny while I was filling up at the gas station. I followed up on my intuition (my Divine Nudge) - there it was, all shiny and hopeful and reassuring.
The thing is, those shiny pennies were there all the time - all I had to do was look. Abundance is like that, too. It’s right there all the time. We simply need to look.
